How come the light where you put your disc in on the Nintendo Wii is not turning on?

Yes, as lots of people are saying the light only turns on for a brief moment and also blinks for when there are updates or someone else sends you a message. Also, I believe there is an option to adjust that light in the Wii system settings, perhaps you accidentally made it too dim. I would look at that before you consult the Nintendo helpline. I hope that helps.

Open the front flap element in the front of the wii for SD card slots. Press and carry the crimson button for 10 seconds. This resets all hardware (like wifit board and wii remotes) related to the wii. Then open the returned of the wii distant (the place the batteries go in) and press the crimson button. try this for the two remotes. it particularly is going to paintings, if it doesnt the memory on your wii distant would be too complete with miis. wish this helped!

Alright. Well.
Half the time I put in a disc, it doesn't turn on.
It's SUPPOSED to flash ONCE when you put a disc in, but if you don't have the system on, it should flash once on start up.
The next time it'll light up is if you set it to light up when your WiiConnect24 recieves something. I'm not sure if there are any other times, but I believe there is one more listed in the Operations Manual

The blue light only flashes momentarily upon power up. It does not stay on the entire time you play. There is no way to adjust settings to make it stay on. I have one myself and wondered the same and I read about it on IGN.com. I wish it would stay on, would look alot cooler
