The chances of you being caught using a bittorrent are astronomical. However, this message may put you on a watch list (not kidding) i wouldn't use them now just to be safe (i never recomend using bittorents anyways since there usualy only for illeagle files that our government has made illeagle for a reason.)

Pedophile?? On bittorrent? Please! On Kazaa's FastTrack Network or one the many Gnutella clients it's possible and NewsGroups as well. Don't get me wrong, there are probably some out there but their risk would be astronomical in NOT getting caught. Once the swarm was identified the FBI would trace all of them. Seeds and peers alike. They need a tracker after all, and it would have to be a private tracker for obvious reasons. Once the FBI identifies it, and they would eventually, it's over for them. The FBI doesn't play, they'd pop'em quick! There was a documentary on TV, Discovery I think, about these freaks and bt wasn't mentioned but the others were.
As for being caught: Use PeerGuardian2 to reduce the risk. It blocks known IP addresses used for tracking P2P clients. Also, the more popular the file in question, the more likely it is to be watched. Tokyo Drift will be more likely to be watched than older movies like Smokey & the Bandit for example. Though it's considered good etiquette to seed to a 1 to 1 ratio, or upload as much as you download, it's up to you if you want to take the risk.
Check out the link below to dessent.net's FAQ on bt.

By posting a question like this for all the world to see. Don't you know that everything that we do on computers these days is being watched? Why would you even expose your intentions of illegal activity? It would be the same as if a bank robber asked if he could get caught after telling people what bank he's going to hit!

i might say very, very slender. Why? nicely, it is because of the fact it is relatively impossible to music down all the human beings making use of it. some human beings want to think of of Limewire as merely a place to "share documents." asserting it like that, makes it sounds style of legal, suitable? From what i've got heard, in case you get caught, you get charged earnings step with document which you downloaded. So do no longer acquire too plenty stuff from there. average, do no longer difficulty approximately it too plenty.

If you do it sparingly and dont leave files seeding for long peroids of time very low. The more you download and the longer you share the greater the chances of getting in trouble are.

About 1 in 679 if you have >500 songs available for upload. That's statistically of course.
