i want to breed hermit crabs but i dont know where they lay their eggs

i would recommend that you put a male and female in a seperate container by themselves for a week. then seperate the male and the female so that means put them in seperate containers make sure it is soft, deep sand with a water bowl and plenty of food

Females lay eggs in the soil which hatch into nymphs in 1 to 2 days. Using sand as a substrate is fine too.

Yes,they dig a hole in the sand like sea turtles and lay there eggs there,then they bury the eggs in sand so predators won't get the eggs,then when they hatch they dig a hole through the ground and live on.

Yes they do bury their eggs in sand, but, it is very difficult to breed them in captivity, not exactly sure why but, it is.
