People cut for a lot of reasons. They aren't always rational to other people but to the cutter they make sense or have some kind of benefit that may not be visible to others. The benefits can be attention, the feeling of belonging, etc. If there are no benefits then they wouldn't do it. Thats true of any behavior no matter how strange it might seem to someone else.

i almost did it when me and my girl got into a huge fight and we almost broke up like i was so upset i just left my house left everything on like i literly just got up and walked out. walked down the street for a while then i called her and it was all good.

besides that, i used to be really depresed back in middle school cuz everyone was an ***, but i grew out of that, i think for some people its a phase they go through when they are 13-15, i've noticed it in a lot of my peers back in the day. i guess its just a part of growing up for some people, some its phycoligical.

i never hurt myself physically.
because I don't think I need to be.

my suggestion for avoiding future cutting is:
be more active in social life such like welfare, school activities.
to meet more people, to know more, and learn more.

I would never cut myself. It is a sign of severe psychological help. You should consult a psychologist.
