So i'm a t-shirts kinda guy, I work with alot of stuff, but i really like the prep look. The only thing is that Over Christmas I amassed quite a few button down shirts, and i'm not sure what to do with them. Should I layer? Should I just wear it as is? Should I layer with a shirt inside that compliments the shirt, and have a nice necklace? Should I layer a shirt on top and just roll up the sleeves? I dunno... suggestions?

Alright man, I used to work at AE for 3 years and id have guys ask me this all the time. For the winter, you definitely want to layer your button downs(also more commonly referred to as 'wovens' in stores). A button down with a tee underneath is kinda casual looking, throw a polo under the button down instead and get a sweetass necklace and your good to go. Dont leave the button down open, just button like one or 2 of the buttons in the middle to look like you were in a hurry. I cant stand having my sleeves down either, i always just bunch them up, looks cooler than rolling them. Hope that helped. keep it pimpin

don't layer button down shirt.s that's just weird. wear a solid colored t shirt underneath, one that is more a neutral color, you can't go wrong with white. for the more preppy look, wear the shirt unbuttoned, and with the sleeves casually rolled up. don't pop your collar some people will tell you to but don't- it's icky.

Well depending how old you are, I like it when guys wear them buttoned up with an under shirt or white t-shirt, but buttoned down enough to see the under shirt or t-shirt.. just my opinion.. i'm 16 by the way..

Wear any tshirt underneath and wear an unbuttoned shirt over it. Then pair it with a boyish necklass like a shell one or the abercrombie type doesn't have to be from abercrombie.

umm ur a guy? sorry hun, but button downs dont look so great on guys, no offense, but maybe it looks good on you.
anyways, try a brown belt (from hollister<3) and faded jeans and a polo or just a tee and if you want a preppy look get a tee that says hollister or just any applique tee ......try not to layer, like one tank top underneath a polo is fine, but like a tank under a tee or button down is just too much for a guy to wear, necklace sounds good, just not one of those white ones, i forget what theyre called, but like theyre small shells and hawaiianish, thats so out. um just something simple, not like bling lol.
um thats bout it.....hope i helped....try some abercrombie clothes too, but hollister fleece look better on guys, in my opinion, well unless theyre like really skinny, sry if u are.
