Do not get a PSP, they suck and don't have very good games. Go with the Xbox or the Wii. The PS3 is too expensive and the Xbox is just as good. The Wii is also just to much fun to put down just because it has worse graphics.

If you want a portable system with TONS of features and a great selection of games, PSP. If you want an amazing graphics system with some good features and a decent selection of titles, but cheaper than the PS3, Xbox 360. If you don't mind spending more money but want better game selection, features and reliability, PS3. If you want less selections of games, but more kid/family oriented games and great solo titles (games that are only available on Nintendo that are awesome (Zelda)) and a really innovative, fun controller. Wii. If you want a smaller portable player that can play all gameboy games and a pretty good selection of DS games, with some cool features not found in the PSP but with worse graphics- NDS lite.

Get either the Wii or the DS Lite i have used all of the platforms mentioned in your questions and those two seem to be the most fun and they are newer and not rediculosly overpriced. The nice thing about the DS is that it is backwards compatable. Which if you don't know what that is that means it can play all the GBA(game boy advanced) and old school Game Boy games. I love my DS Lite and my friend has a Wii and it is sooo much fun.
Sure there are not thousands of games out for them yet but you just wait!

I have a PSP & Wii and played the PS3..I travel a lot (long-haul flights) so the PSP is great for that..but when i'm at home and just goin about my business i don't really play it.
The Wii is fun..but it looks just like a PS2 with a different controller (to me)..I'm not really happy with buying it and it seems like most of the games are tailored towards a younger audience (elebits, rayman etc)..though Madden 07 is fun.
The PS3 looks great (GTHD & Motorstorm esp.) but for the total cost ($600 console, the special (HDMI?) cables and the HDTV etc) is way over my budget..but I'm holding out for a bit and I will definitely buy the PS3 since I never really got used to the XBOX 360.
So: PSP if you travel a lot..since you can use it for music, games etc, or PS3 if you can afford it.

I would go with the Xbox 360 or the Wii. The PlayStation 3 is overpriced, and many of the games are available on other systems.

I have played them all and the Wii is the best. Hard to beleive Nintendo is winning the system wars, but when you play the Wii you will know why.

For the same kind of money you will spend on a video game, you can buy an amateur radio setup that will let you talk to astronauts on the space station, text message other hams via satellite, email thru satellites without an internet connection. Find a local Amateur radio club in your town and go to a meeting, everyone will be happy to help you get started.
