Welfare is is limited money and only for a short period - you need to be doing ANY job just to get off of welfare.
Usually the jobs only pay minimum wages, which means you will stay poor, even working for 16 hrs a day, getting minimum wages will not cover the expenses of a family.
So you stay poor and after using up welfare you might as well die esp. when you get sick and need care.

have u read some of the post on here about welfare..people assume if you are on welfare you are too lazy to work and that's why people don't want to go on it..the stigma attached.. I am on disabilty and welfare and everytime I speak up for people on welfare..I get a thumbs down... Unless u really need it it's not worth the hassle..u have to report if you make 50 cents. I get $30 a month and for that..I get treated like shi- when I go to use them..I make $600 a month and that's all I get which I am thankful for..people still call me a lazy bum and I have been on disabilty for 10 years..I worked for years and paid into the system btw.. The govt wants to know everytime I go to "pee" and some people don't think it's worth the hassle.

Maybe they are embarrased. Although they shouldn't be because sometimes there are circumstances where there is no choice, I mean you have them help you to eat or you starve. If that was my situation I would put aside all critics and feelings.

You clearly have never been on welfare, it's impossible, i think they make it that difficult so people wont bother

Some people do, but it is more of a "help" than a "living".
