I saw in the Atlanta Journal Constitution yeasterday that James Browns coffin looked like it was made from gold. Anyone have a say in this or know if this is really gold?

my thoughts on this: "live like a pimp, die like a pimp!"

If the coffin was solid gold it would be much too heavy for the pall bearers. I think it was gold plated. I think it was garish, and quite excessive. Everyone forgets who James Brown REALLY was. Aside from being a fabulous entertainer he was also a convicted felon and a notorious wife beater..... I think the hoopla over his death, and his garish funeral procession through the streets of New York was disgusting. He was just a man, and not even a good man...He was an entertainer, not a person deserving of a golden coffin or a horse drawn procession through the streets of New York.

Gold Plated.

If it was pure gold that would be an expensive coffin, and grave diggers would be digging it up and selling the gold.

If it was solid gold it would be impossible to lift without heavy machinery
