I have to admit I was a huge collector of beanie babies. I collected them because I heard they would be worth a good sum in the future and come to find out they're worth jack sh!t.. I still have a box of them in my basement and they are mostly the ones that McDonalds were selling, you know the world collection ones. I might as well toss them out though or maybe I'll burry them in a time capsule lol.. I fell for a lot of fads back then remember the Tickle Me Elmo? Heard they were rare and then WAM you get 1,000 more in Wal-Mart next month. And what about those damn Cabbage Patch Dolls and Furby, Tomogatchi, pokemon!!!? God the 90’s were some sad years..

I have a still growing collection of Ty's, I never had the original tickle me elmo but I just bought the TMX for my 2 year old son for Christmas, and no I didn't pay anything above the regular retail price. My mom bought both me and my sister a cabbage patch kid when they first came out. She worked at Sears and was able to get on the floor before the store opened and bought them for our Christmas present that year, I bought a cabbage patch baby for my son's 2nd birthday a few months ago. I was given a Furby a few years ago, one of the old ones, all mine did was fart and burp. My cousin has a tamagotchi that she still olooks after even now. I don't remember how long ago she got it, but they came out 2 years before she was born.

I never got into the Beanie Baby fad,but know of people who went into serious debt and ultimately bankruptcy collecting those things. That was obsessive in my opinion. Crazy!!

Hey I wouldnt throw those out just yet. keep them for you kids and you never know what could come back...even though you would question why the heck they ever would come back but i think there is a good possiblity that they will. I would keep them.

The beanie babies killed me. I have a ton of them. I thought I would sell them and I didnt. Now they are all in containers awaiting their fate...
