Outside of children and Faith? OUCH!
I would have to say:
My job! I've been a schoolteacher for the past 20+ years, and I STILL can't wait to get to work in the morning.
My motorcycles! They are a total BLAST. I know that they will kill me someday if I don't stay super alert and ride responsibly.
Talk about being connected with life and the energy of the world!
Coming home from work on my motorcycle each day just absolutely fills me with energy, and an ear-to-ear grin every time.
Peace, and Happy New Year!

I think for me it's the ability to create. i don't mean just a sculpture or a painting, but also the ties everyone forms with fellow human-beings; be it positive or negative. The ability to stir a feeling through a touch, an expression, a melody. The ability be so complex that you cannot untangle emotions and desires, yet so simple as to love unconditionaly, want unconditionaly, grow and evolve over the course of a lifetime. Also, just being alone to discover. To discover myself, my friends, family, pets, nature is a joy. living is a joy.

Since no one has mentioned anything about books or reading them, so I'm delighted to tell you the source of my joy, since years ago, is from reading and collecting books of all kinds in which I'm interested. Since I have to read about three novels so I design my own reading strategy by reading each in rotation, reading one till the end is too boring for me. Moreover, I also read to console myself through some difficult moments in my life, that is, I've found reading good books can be my good friends in need. In short, I still talk to my good friends and I keep reading in my free time.
Moreover, I've found some books as listed in the web site below quite interesting, therefore, the list is for everyone to search and treat it as another source of further reading enjoyment.

Love, art, music, nature. In a word: beauty. Despite the ugliness & despair that are in the world, there is still beauty & joy to be found.

I enjoy thinking. I enjoy playing. I enjoy imagining.
I enjoy epic battles. I enjoy smelling exuberant
blooms. I enjoy making things. I enjoy eating.
I enjoy love. I enjoy hate. I enjoy accosting sea-life
at the seashore. I enjoy planting a garden. I enjoy
getting lost in the woods. I enjoy getting lost in
daydreams. My goodness, this is going to be a
very long list! The short answer is that I can find
joy in nearly anything. Unless I don't want to.

Just being connected to the moment, the environment around me and being incredibly aware of every sensation.
Lots of things can set me up for the experience, almost anything can set it off.
Peace
