my ipod has been frozen for 5 hours and i can't get it to work! I've tried everything! Please help i just got in October and it's never froze before! Could i restore it? If i restore it will it erase all my purchased songs my dad says it's where i leave it plugged in to long is he right? Please,!! I'm really in need of help plz!! Could it have something to do with how many songs are on there earlier today it was working fine and the same screen is on the ipod the last song i was playing "i am understood" by Relient K and the time says 7:04 I only have 183 songs on there i really need help please!

Slide the hold button at the top to the locked position and back again. Then hold the middle button and the Menu portion of the wheel until the Apple appears. It will take a minute, but it will come back up. You shouldn't lose your downloaded songs, but they'll still be in your iTunes library even if you do for some reason. I've had mine about the same amount of time you've had yours and it happens to me occasionally, too. I've noticed for me it's usually when I try to perform too many commands too quickly in succession.

Okay first dont open your iPod!!! just turn your hold switch on then off then hold down the play and menu buttons or it mite be the menu and middel buttons it happend with mine a while ago and this worked. just dont open it if you dont know what your doing you could mess something up then no one will take it back because they will know you opened it.

hold for 6-10 sec.

Frozen? Are you in Moscow?
Did you mean hung? Get your iPod manual out and it has a section which teaches you how to restart your iPod.
Alternatively, you can wait till the battery drains out.

My bf had that problem and he reset it and it worked. Better to reset and loose songs that you can get again later than have an ipod and not have it work....

Try opening ti and taking out the battery. It will restart but it will keep your files.
