If I ovulate on January 18 should I have sex the night before to get pregnant?

yes, and on jan 18th and on the 19th too :) and the gender thing is not really very scientific... I conceived all my children exactly when i ovulated (i was charting and temping and all that) and i ended up with 2 girls, one boy.

I am currently 5 and a half weeks pregnant. I was on Clomid and had been told to have sex every second day. Anyway after two months of trying and not having sex after I had ovulated and not falling pregnant, this month I know I ovulated on the 13th of December so hubby and I had sex that night and on the 15th. Two weeks later I found out I was pregnant. Good luck.

I would do it the night before and hte day of, and hell... why not the night after?
Me and my fiance` had done it just asbout every day for the past month and a half (sometimes twice or so) and we still managed to miss it somehow... I wish you the best of luck, but if you are seriously trying to have a baby, then you should already know the answer to this! Every day around the time!

The sperm lives for three days, so even two nights before would be good!

Sperm can live up to 72 hours inside you, but why not have sex the night before, the night of and the night after! Isn't that the fun of getting pregnant?

I would even start having sex on the 15th to be sure. Or even earlier sperm can live for several days. It is also better to have sex every other day so the sperm count is up. If you have sex several times that day it won't increase your chances it is better to not have sex on the 16th and have sex on the 17 etc.

It is during ovulation that you are more likely to get impregnated. The timing during this period also determines the gender of baby.
