Tells differ from individual to individual... I've heard a lot of people say that covering your mouth or touching your face with your hand is a tell that you are being dishonest. However I've noticed that when i play i spend the majority of the time with my hand on or near my mouth... It's just natural for me to be in this position so as a tell it is worthless.

The best thing to do is to pay close attention early in the game as to what hands people are playing and how they act while playing good hands as opposed to how they act when playing marginal hands. The eyes are the best indicator you have. When the cards flop don't watch the table, keep your eye on the eyes of the player you think is your best opposition. With practice it becomes obvious at the instant in which they see the card weather they are excited or disappointed.

Betting style is another useful tell.
