A few (the vast minority) have some verifiable fact to them (though often there are errors in the details).
Most are completely fictitious (though, some of these are like modern fiction writing - based in plausibility, just not historical)

There is a bit of truth to all of them.. there is a show called urban legends that proves or disproves them also mythbusters is a great show for that.I think both are on the discovery channel..there are so many that are kool sounding how do you choose just one..

well most urban ledgends are based on fragments of, if not complete, truths. i've heard one in Myland, Indiana about a man who accidently killed himself with a chainsaw and when you walk by the house's fenced in yard you can hear the chainsaw rev. i've heard it myself and there is no one that resided in / on the property
