Buy it now and get it set up. If something happens and there is a mess in her playpen and in her sleeping area you can put her in the crib. It makes a great spot for her to lay and look around too.

There is no reason not to buy it now. If you already know if your having a boy or a girl you can go ahead and get the babies room completely ready. If you don't know which gender you might want to wait. I carried my second child so different from the fist that I was sure we were having a girl. We hadn't even considered a boy's name. Six weeks before my due date I a sonogram and found out it was a boy. I had bought a white crib and had the room all done in pinks and purple. I ended up keeping the white bed and doing the room in primary colors.

Yes, get it now! You might not have time or energy to set it up after the baby is born. I would start the baby sleeping in the crib from day one. You want her to be used to sleeping in it right away because she might not want to when she is 3 months. Also the pack and play sets down really low and is hard to get the baby in and out without waking her. The crib is usually adjustable and can be easier to get the baby in and out. Good Luck!

Get it now. After the baby comes, you won't have time to really pick out one that you like. And put it together now. There is nothing like trying to get one of those things together when you need it that night. Plus a crib just gives the room that special "baby will be here soon" feeling.

I say if you have room for it you should do it before the baby comes so you won't have to worry about it later. She can come any day now. And once she comes you're going to have your hands full. I can honestly say both my kids did not like sleeping in their cribs and opted for either the swing or the pack and play. We ended up just getting a co-sleeper. Good luck and best wishes on your pregnancy:)

Where are you planning to put the kid? Is it gonna sleep with you? The Pack n Play is good if you don't mind bending all the way to the floor. I suggest you get the crib now, before delivery and put the baby in it when you bring him/her home from the hospital. One less thing to think about later. Enjoy!!

If you have the gift card and the space, buy it now and get it over with. My kids slept in bassinets, next to my bed, until they were about 4 months old. If you do that, you won't need a crib right away, but if there's no reason to wait then go ahead and get it if you want to.
Congratulations!!
For the record, we went out and got our crib when I discovered I was prego. I couldn't wait to get it, but I'm impatient when it comes to that stuff........

hi-I think I would get it now, especially if you have the room.
plus with after Christmas sales--you may get a better deal.
we havent gotten our crib yet because we have a bassinet that we will put her in and keep her in the room with us until she's too big for it.
--we have the p-n-p as well, so we dont even really need a crib, lol -the one I picked out though is a 4-in-1 so it will eventually end up being her full size bed when she is older

As soon as you find one that you love, buy it! The baby will be in there in no time. Our daughter started sleeping in her crib after just a few weeks, and she did great. Better to have it already there when the baby comes. Good luck, and congrats!

My son is almost 6 months old, and we just got his crib. He has been sleeping in his pack n play (sort of) since birth. Although, I was totally against co sleeping at first, it just makes so much sense when they are really young, especially if you are nursing. I really think you can wait, because you won't really be ready to put them into the crib to sleep at night until they are ready, and who knows how long that will be. The only problem I had with the pack n play is that when you get them to sleep and go to lay them down, you have to bend down so low to get them in there that usually they will wake up. At least if you end up with a light sleeper like mine. A crib is higher and you wouldnt have that problem. You might want to go a different route and start using the crib from the begining though, it might save you from having to deal with trying to make the transition later like I am. But really for at least the first month you won't use it much. On the other hand, it is nice to have it ready to go, just to complete the nursery if nothing more. I did really hate not having the crib because I had the bedding, but it has been colecting dust, and now at almost 6 months I am finally getting to put my sons room together. Sorry this was so long, hope that helped and didnt just confuse you more!
