Kilty, I'm afraid an atlas wouldn't do any good. Many US students (and probably the general population) can't even find the Pacific Ocean on a map, much less your wonderful country!! I heard the sad fact today on CNN.
For the record, I loved the Red-Green Show- backbacon, beer, and mechanical pursuits aside!
Please in turn, be convinced that there are yet some of us who would fail to make the Jerry Springer stage down here!

YES THEY ARE!!!! . First read some of the dumb answers from Americans about Canadians . Secondly the times I have travelled to the states in conversations with Americans they actually believe we don't have money ...can't afford vacations , and live in igloos. If you worked at the airport you would be suprized to see how many americans come to Ontario in the summer with coats thinking its winter .But not all are stupid their is just quite a few ...so I ask forgiveness for what I just said to the educated ones there

ok< enable's get one element rapidly precise off the bat: Bush STOLE the two those elections; there is not any way in hell he would ever are transforming into in without cheating. the 1st election, over 660,000 votes for Gore have been discarded, and the females who assisted him the two have been given promotions and will boost...the 2d, ditto. How he have been given in replaced right into a travesty of justice and what he did in his 2 stolen words is even worse. So ask the question till now you're making judgments based extra on your guy or woman very own emotions for however motives, and attempt to refrain from making rude and insulitng comments re an entire continent. of direction, you Brits are very censorious in direction of individuals, an physique of strategies I even have been attentive to when you consider that I spent time in London, so no longer something new there. EDIT: "the only element extra risky than lack of understanding is conceitedness" and on your case, the combination of the two is much extra alarming...

As an American who has traveled extensively overseas, yes, I am ashamed to say that the average American doesn't see much further than the borders of the continental U.S., and sometimes only as far as the border of his own state.
On the other hand, there are also lots of untrue stereotypes about Americans floating around overseas, so don't feel singled out.

No, we're not all stupid with regard to Canada. I hope we're not, anyway.
I'm teaching English in Japan, and I've had the opportunity to work with several people from Canada. Very nice people!
One of them was arrested for marijuana possession and deported, though. Not a pleasant time for any of us.

Stupid! Not Stoopid. I think this takes away from your point. There is some truth to all stereotypes or they wouldn't be funny.
