Punctuation is not a strong point of mine, why dos'nt that go along with the spell check?

Oh come on....

"dos'nt" did not get through spell check. No way, no how.

But your idea for other checks is good. Getting people to use them would be the problem.

Punctuation check is a nice idea, but it would be difficult to program one with enough AI to understand the subjective subtleties of the way we write sentences. Spelling is much more objective.

As far as your earlier question goes, 'ask' IS a word, and a spell check isn't a grammar check! 'To' is a word also, and it's not surprising that a simple spell checker can't realise that it's supposed to be 'too'!

Maybe there should be a spell / grammar / punctuation checker ... but they have limitations too, imagine...
I know all about reindeer.
I know all about rain dear.

Alice, Beverly, Patricia, Dennis and Bob. (Five people.)
Alice Beverly Patricia Dennis, and Bob. (Two people, one of them with a lot of names!)

'Tis YOU!! (Archaic English for 'it's YOU!')
Tissue. (The sort of thing you blow your nose with..!)
Or even 'Tis Sue! (Archaic English for 'it's Sue'!)

The list could go on forever, but the simple fact is that you have to double and triple check everything you write! Even then you'll probably miss a few terrible mistakes - which reminds me to point out (to those who come after me) that 'realise' is the English spelling, and perfectly valid (especially as I'm ENGLISH!) And, of course, 'tis is just the olde worlde version of it's - and the less said about 'olde worlde' the better..!

Oh boy looks like they murdered you again, didn't they? Anyway, as long as what you mean is what you said you'll be fine. Life's a learning process, hang in there.
