Is it a Pick-up or SUV. As me & my wife are argueing on what type of vehicle it is. I say it is a SUV as it has a closed boot/trunk, but she says it's pick-up Truck because of the shape. But I bought a SUV as it sits on a Suburban Chassis. Please resolve!!!!

But it can go off road unlike most yank trucks, still it is not a LAND-ROVER

The Chevrolet Avalanche was made by GM to convert both the SUV and truck, into one car. The Avalanche is both truck and SUV, but nothing more. The chassis is that of a truck as its interior is changed into an SUV. I would have to say that it would resemble mostly a truck. Its body was taken from GM's previous trucks to help the Avalanche have the exterior of a truck and the interior of an SUV, allowing space and room to be fitted as you change the setting. However, if you see it from the interior's point of view, you can see that its SUV characteristics are visible and that it would strongly represent the inside. It's what your opinion of a truck and SUV and what they can do that counts as you solution to your problem.

It is more of a truck than an SUV. And all of them Suburban, Tahoe, etc. share the same chassis as Chevy's full size trucks. But you can call the Avalanche which ever way it suits you.

It's an SUV with an open pick-up bed and it looks like the hideous love-child of a Ponitac Aztec and a GMC truck. There is a reason why they named it after a natural disaster, you know.

call it a PUUV. pick up utility vehicle. but seriously, it's a pickup with four doors, a bed, and all kinds of quirky gadgets(back glass and panel, and Little storage bins and stuff)
the bed is not separate from the cab , which confuses people.

'if you go to the offical web sit it comes under suv'
No, it comes up under both truck and SUV.
An avalanche could be considered both.
