on my ipod i put my music on there but some songs are not showing up under the artist's name. what do i do to get them under the name.

You should update the ID3 tags... In Itunes, do this by RIGHT CLICKING on the song in Itunes and select 'GET INFO'.
Then make sure the artists name appears in the Artist box.
I believe you can do this on windows media player too - just look where you can change the 'properties' or 'info' on a song.

From the itunes software, choose the song in your library or playlist and right-click to open a menu...choose "properties", and fill in the artist's name, album title, etc.
Then update your player and the info will show up.

Find those particular songs on your iTunes library. Chech the artist name and edit the name if it's wrong. The changes will be changed on your iPod as well when you update it.

Check if it is listed right in your iTune's. If it is showing up right there it might be a problem with the iPod itself. You can alter names and info in your iTune program.
