OK, here's my brainstorm...

One of them becomes another's boss after a promotion.

Make one a writer and have one think that some bumbling character in the writer's book is based upon him or her.

Have two guys hit on a girl who can't say, "No," to their advances. She likes them both and confides in her friends, but both guys don't know that the other is flirting with the same girl. They discover each other's intentions and the girl is forced to choose. Maybe this is in front of the whole group of friends.

Have the homophobic guy become good friends with a manly gay guy and tell the hilarious story of how the gay guy tells the homophobe he's gay.

Have a girl character be some kind of alternachick and one be polly purity. Have their views always be diametrical. Their reactions to each other could be entertaining. The alternachick could wretch at polly or polly could cover her eyes at alternachick's antics.

Good luck with that writer's block.

without a basic plot setting, it is difficult to come up with an answer for you.
It is a play, so that helps some, possibly introduce an impromptu scene where the audience is involved, and write it that no matter how it goes, the play will flow back to its original ending.
For instance, a character establishes silence is an admission of guilt, accusses another of sleeping around with everybody can accuse the gentleman ,or gentlewoman, in "seat 3 G" of the indiscretion, and the three responses possible can be delt with spontaniously. Yes, No, or silence. Many circumstances other than sex could apply, of course.

Some plot twists:
Some of them want to go on a TV " live show of 'how we live together.' ", but some of them are against it.

Some are forming a Kibbutz in the city - a refuge for Jewish people to live set apart from the 'gentiles' who annoy them.

Some of them get chicken pox and have to be quarantined. (Adult Ch pox is fairly dangerous as a disease)

A pet is introduced into the plot and 3 are allergic.

One guy has gotten 2 wom,en pregnant (very corny)

Someone wins the lottery

SOmeone is diagnosed with schizophrenia, and refuses to be medicated.

Any mroe?

Someone gets religion (any one will do - I mean any religion)

A health food junkie wants to be part of this elite group of friends and they have to 'vote' to allow them in. Once in it becomes very hard to live with the nutcase.

Well, that is all for now. Call back later for more!

sure. Why don't you cite a community and all of them have secret lives to reveal in the play and having inter-relations with one another. It might be love triangle, tragic drama of suicide for love one or family or carreer failure, maybe an indecent love affair or the like; maybe an orphan who craves for love, etc...and in the end, there are winners and there are losers. The end.

One of the friends is becoming a cop, and the other a criminal...
The bad one hides his secrets....while every one else tells the good one, the good one struggles to help him out, but continually gets rejected......
