It's normal when your younger for your period to be a little irregular. If it lasted for 9 days it was probably heavy. It will regulate more as you get older and probably become shorter too.

well, normal periods last 2-8 days but mine usually last 7 or 8 days. my mom's lasted for 12 days because that was just normal for her. Because you're still young, your periods may get longer or shorter. If you feel like it's necessary, you can get birth control (with your parents permission) and that will shorten your period to about 3 days.
If your period is lasting 9 days, you probaly have a heavy flow. It depends on how fast you fill up a pad or tampon.

that is okay and normal unless it was really heavy the whole time. you might judge heavieness by how often you have to change your femine protection. If you have to change it like every 1-2 hours, thats really heavy. I think the normal range would be about every five hours, or more if sleeping. you should talk to your mom about it, or another trusted female to determine if there is some other kind of problem.

i started when i was 12 too. remember that at an early age like that your periods could be irregular.

normally periods only last 4-7 days. [but some women last longer]

if you continue to have it, talk to your mom. tell her whats going on and ask to be seen by a doctor.

[one time my cousin had her period for a month. she had to be seen by a doctor.]

im not trying to scare you by the comment about my cousin lol..but like i said, if it continues talk to your mom then a doctor.

9 days seems a little long. you should talk to your mother and have her take you to the doctor if she thinks there is a problem.
