It depends...a lot of people are blasting you for getting rid of Bay, but lets be serious, Bay is a power hitting outfielder, its not like power hitting outfielders are hiding under rocks, there's a lot of them, and I'd bet you can find another one floating around in your league. Lastings will only be as good as the team he plays for. If he stays with the Mets, he'll never get any playing time with the log jam outfield they have. He gets traded and has significant playing time, thats a golden move. Verlander is a nice pickup if he has the same success that he had last year. Remember, Detroit has an extra bat in Sheffield and they upgraded their bullpen, so Verlander might pick up a few more wins than he did last year.
I would have made the same move if I were in your shoes. Good trade.

Keep Jason Bay. Do not trade him. If he was on a better team he would put up 320 avg/ 40hr/ 120rbi. But pitchers have had the luxury of pitching around him. With the emergence of Freddy
Sanchez and the Pirates free agent signings, it looks as though Bay will have a terrific year. Verlander was great in the first half of 06, but tailed off in the end of the season and was very ineffective in the playoffs. Lastings Milledge barely scratches this equation.

If it were a normal fanatasy season, the other guy may have gotten the better of you, but not in a keeper league. Verlander is still young, and he's only going to get better, especially with an improved line up behind him. Lastings Milledge has been one of the best prospects in baseball for years, and when he breaks out, he can provide the same numbers that Jason Bay would have. Plus you can use him as trade bait later.
I like Jason Bay, but there are plenty of outfielders available that can put up similar numbers. I think that having no protection in that Pirates line up is eventually going to get to him. You made a good deal.

Depends on what you team needed. If you were needing K's and wins, it might be okay depending on your outfield depth. Outfielders are not in short supply, but ones who hit 30 homeruns are. I'd say the trade is a draw at best, depending on your OF depth. Giving up a guy that helps you every day for a guy who will only help you every 5th day is questionable. Milledge is the "X" factor, if he plays up to his potential, you may actually come out ahead on this deal

It all depends on how the league is set-up and how long the league is going to last.
Bay is a stud, but it is much harder to find a stud pitcher like Verlander who was 17-9 last year than it is to find a outfielder who hit .286 with 35 homers. Outfielders are a dime a dozen.

I think you made out pretty well... Bay is an allstar & a power stud, but OFs grow on trees. You can probably find a cheap one laying around that will put up 3/4 of the production. Find this years Holliday or Cuddyer and you've hit the jackpot (anyone have Markakis in your league?) and/or grab a solid vet that everyone forgets about, like Jacque Jones or Alou.

Nope. Jason Bay is the most underrated player in the bigs IMO. It's because he plays for an awful team, despite hitting 30+ homeruns every year.

i don't comprehend the dimensions of your league or your regulations, so i will't answer. The team it somewhat is getting Braun has one much less participant. So are they conserving somebody else now? who's that participant? Or have they have been given one extra early %. interior the draft? How extreme is that %.? while all is declared and achieved, team B is going to have Braun + somebody else extremely of Lind and Kershaw. How am i able to choose if I have not have been given any concept who that different participant is going to be?
