Babies grow and develop at their own pace. This is normal. If she is trying to pull up, and is pulling up on her knees, she will be pulling up all the way before long. It is OK if she isn't doing everything at the same time as your friends children. If she isn't walking by 16 months, then worry. Until then, she is a fine normal baby who is learning to explore the world around her at her own pace. Don't stop holding her and encouraging her. She is a baby and needs all the love you can give.

hi!
actually, I have a daughter also. She's already 1 year and 8 months.
She just started walking when she reached 1 year old.
My baby is healthy, she is very intelligent, already knows a lot of skills and to think i only breasfed her for 1 month cos i don't produce a lot of milk!
So, I don't think you did something wrong. Mothers always do good for their children. It's not your fault.
It really depends on the child. You don't have to worry, maybe after 1 month your baby would be able to walk a few steps
You can also try letting your baby walk while she holds on the side of her crib or anything which has a support. It could really help. That's what i did w/ my daughter!

At 10 months she might not be pulling up much.. Here is a link about crawling and walking. Development from 7-12 months is such a wide range and each baby is so different. Don't stress too much, she will do it.

Please keep in mind that all childre, like adults, are different and will reach their milestones at the time they are ready. A milestone is set at an average, so there are plenty of children that reach them sooner or even later than the time set. That does not mean one child is smarter or better than another. There has been no IQ link between the speed at which a child reaches certain milestones or not.
If it worries you beyond belief, try to coach her along in non-obvious ways. Like setting favorite toys up on a coffee table, or favorite foods. Do not ever put your child in a "walker", not only have they been proven to be unsafe but they stall childrens ability to walk by making their legs develope incorrectly. They may be more helpful to parents but not really worth it in the end.
Best of luch to Madison and please keep in mind that she will get to it, when she feels its necessary.

My daughter was almost 10 months when she started to pull up. It is normal for some babies to pull up closer to their first birthday. If you want to encourage her to stand, try putting a toy she likes on a low table or on the couch.

Absolutely don't worry. I have a 4 yr old and a 12 month old. Both set their own schedules of development but were within a couple months of the "norm". Just ask yourself this... "How many 10 year olds do you see that don't stand up on their own?" Your little one will be just fine... enjoy this stage cause after this it goes really fast!

Don't worry - she's fine. My daughter didn't walk until 17 months! And she is totally fine. And NO WAY can you be holding her too much - keep holding her. Before you know it you won't be able to pick her up anymore because she'll be too big.

You shouldn't be worried, all babies go by milestones at different paces. My daughter is going to be ten months soon. But it is so excited when they are at this age hey? I love to watch my daughter she makes everything so interesting! Well hope the best for your family.
