yes, it works with a gamecube controller. i tried playing zelda twilight princess ( wii version) with a gamecube controller. it's really handy if you sometimes don't want a traditional conroller or a wiimote. nintendo says that it works.

yes !!!! you can the nintendo wii web site makes that clear the gamecube i compatible with the wii in the controller memory card and games

you cannot use a gamecube controller on the new wii because the new wii's have a sensor on them like a tv remote and are wireless i don't even believe there's a port for you to put the jack in

No but you can get the Wii Classic Controller.

Nah. They didn't make them compatible as most of the games for the Wii are motion sensetive.
