They should have a choice:

1. Castration without the benefit of anesthetic

OR

2. Placement in general population within a prison wearing a jumpsuit with the words "child molestor" in bold letters on the back.

I think it only fair they should have to choose between the two that they don't want, just like their victims. . .

And to tattoo980. . . Women can also be castrated - speak to a young women from some of the African nations. They will tell you all of the gory details.

That punishment is not good enough if it is not accompanied by a lobotomy. They should never be allowed into the public ever again.

Child molesters, who by the way are supported by the ACLU and are the defense attorneys for NAMBLA and NAMBLA for women. Those attorneys should have their licenses to practice law revoked and their records seized immediately..

A child molester gets their kicks from violence not sex. Their malice goes far beyond what the present penalties provide. Nobody ever thinks about what that child will have to re-live in their minds and in nightmares.

Sexual criminals should be put into mental institutions, in my opinion. If they're not insane they should be put away for a long time. That's the only civilized way. Child molestation leaves life long harm on some so it'd only be right that the worst be put away for life.

In a perfect world, yes. But that has even been proven to not be completely effective. I don't know of many child molestors that ever "reform".

No, they should be given a fair trail and if found guilty by their pears and found guilty, given one year to build a case for an appeal. If the conviction sticks then they should be given a week to talk to family and clergy and than be swiftly (I prefer painlessly, but what the hell your executing them) put to death the same goes for Murders and rapist.

The first problem with that question is that it assumes all child molesters are males. Second, the eighth amendment says the punishment cannot exceed the crime. As with all crimes, they need to be taken on a case to case basis.

if they are tested and the Dr. knows for sure this person will offend again I think yes, they should. Even this will not do away with all their evil urges but would help a lot.
