windows media player/internet problem?

When I try to play video from the internet the windows media player pops up in the browser as usual but either never plays or the screen will go blank and I can hear the sound...

This happens in particular when I'm trying to view hockey highlights from NHL.com or Yahoo...

It happens once in a while. I think it is a bad link from the source. I have run into this and go to a site I know works and it does, so it is site related
