I don't mean sixth sense or psychic powers or anything like that, but Jung talks about the four personality archetypes (Sensing, Feeling, Thinking and Intuiting) and I've recently learned that I am an intuitive type. I often get a "sense" or "feeling" about something or someone. It's a very irrational perspective on how to look at things so I'm not sure how to build and develop it. Any suggestions?

Start by keeping a diary of each intuitive feeling and it's end result. Compile and compare after an extended period of time. In the mean time do research the well known psychics because it's in their field of gifts. Try their web sites: Francesca Kimpton, Sylvia Brown. Glenn Dove, Lydia Clar, etc...
Also go to Bella on Line there are tests there.

I think it comes with age and experience. Our brains store information gathered from experiences in our lives, both positive and negative, and our intuition is our subconscious processing that information when we need it. It happens quickly and without any effort on our part, just like when we watch Jeopardy and an answer pops into our head and we are right....but we think "how the heck did I know that or remember that??" It's our wonderful brain.
On a more spiritual level, intuition is also God (or whatever higher power you believe in) speaking to us, guiding us. The only way to increase your intuition that comes from God is through prayer and being open to that inner voice.
That's what I've learned over the years...increased intuition comes from experience and God.

Intuition: A socially accepted term for psychic awareness. The meaning of the two words In and Tuition are interesting. IN comes from Middle English and Latin origin meaning SEE. And TUITION from Middle English and Latin meaning PROTECTION. So intuition really means see protection or protective sight. Next time you act on your intuition you can say you are acting upon your protective sight!
I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.

Dear Brother
Maybe you can sense the aurora of a person, or situation. Positive versus negative energy. Like magnetism. You can actually feel the waves emanating off of people and places.
Start by stopping the next time you get such a feeling and thinking about what it was trying to tell you. You may never fully be able to build or 'develop' such feelings, but using them to guide you is a good start.

Gain confidence in your intuition by remembering the times you acted on it and it worked out. I'm highly intuitive, and I feel you'll do fine.

Observe, take notes, spend time analyzing why people act or react in a certain way. Try to pinpoint typical behavioral characteristics of people that you can generally categorize into certain behavioral groups (i.e. people that are dependent or timid may have been abused as a child or a teen, people that moved often during their childhood may be extravagant liars, etc.)

Probably by doing it a lot and seeing if you were right or wrong will make it stronger.

i guess follow your instinct...go with what feels right...if you have a good feeling about someone then you know you can trust em and if you have a bad one...just be wary...this may help cultivate your super kewl skill!
