How is it that everything that happens in the world is either a direct result of American action or the result of American inaction?

Do you think the rest of the world is as hard on America as Americans?

In a lot of cases yes, it is up to us to make a daily task to change that image. It is imperative that we show that we deserve to be the strong country that was built before we were born. Right now we must not give up the task of rebuilding a stable Iraq that will last through the years for the people there, so they may find peace and prosperity and secuity. This will be difficult, especially because the united states is doing most of this on her own, but the rewards far outweigh the risks. Leaving will not be an option because of the carnage that will transpire and the United States will be left with the blame for allowing this to happen. However, if we can create a country where the people are able to share governance, live and work and raise their families, then we can be seen for what this war was intended to be and enjoy a future free from terror at the thanks of the entire world.

Everything in the world is NOT a result of American action or inaction. The world clearly is being misled about America as it has been for 40 years.

The United States has a more disproportionate influence on world affairs than any other nation in world history. We have troops in more than 130 countries and covert activities in probably more. While many might use that reality to rally around unwarrented conspiracy theories the fact remains that the world is not ours to control and unfortunately our leaders seems to believe that it is. The fact that the overwhelming majority of our population is overindulged and underinformed does not help matters.

I've lived in other countries and traveled around the world and let me tell you that most people are nice to individual Americans but see America poorly especially in regard to international affairs. The Europeans definately have the worst impressions: We are: fat, lazy and arrogant. We are: either Beverely Hills 90210 or Jerry Springer. And to more directly answer your question: We are bullies

big dog on the block always takes the hits... but of course there are obvious advantages...

some people want to blame everything on the U.S... most probably don't

at the same time... there are a few things that the U.S. probably helped along... both problems and good things...

I think they do view the U.S. that way... but more because the U.S. doesn't seem to care about anyone but themselves... as someone already stated to this question...

not a very "friendly attitude"...kind of sounds like Terrell Owens... do you like Terrell Owens?

I wish us Americans were much harder on ourselves than we are. This blind patriotism BS is getting very old. Yes, I do think the world sees us as spoiled brats, but I really don't blame them...however, I think the citizens of more countries should throw tantrums and maybe make some positive changes in their countries.

Who cares what the rest of the world thinks? I live here, not in some backwards country that claims to hate us until they get a chance to move here.

Only by slobs who are hateful and want to jump on the bash America bandwagon. It's hip to hate Americans and that's fine with me. We've bailed many a country out of wars (ahem...England, France) but we've also done our fair share of sticking our noses where they always doesn't belong. Our country isn't perfect, neither are its' people but, no country is. I think people will always find a reason to hate.
