No. Because the war rages on, with or without Saddam. Ironically, the death toll surpasses that of 9-11, which is the half-baked rationalization some neo-cons have for invading Iraq. Saddam's removal from power smacks more of a personal vendetta from the Bush Administration than any legitimate act against terrorism. Otherwise, it should be Osama Bin Laden on the hangman's noose.
Adding to this quagmire is the fact that for more than 3 years, the US has been fighting in Iraq with insufficient armor, training, backup, and adequate leadership. All this, and the Sitcom President still has the gall to recline in his Oval Office chair and bellow, "Bring it on!" thousands of miles removed from the front lines. It makes me sick to think of this chickenhawk pretending to be a commander-in-chief.

I just read the Sunset Sam diatribe - which I thinks goes beyond the pale with appelations such as "neo-con", blah, blah - however, I find any argument for pulling out of Iraq to be equally specious when one does not mention that Pres. Wm. Clinton emasculated our nation's Armed Forces by eliminating ten soldier divisions during his term of office. Please, folks, it ain't all one-sided and to so posture is self-defeating, kinda stupid and arrogant.
Clearly, we want all of our family in arms to return home in one piece. I was in Vietnam when Gen. Westmorland promoted the issue of "body counts." This was one of the most stupid, insidious reasons to an American War of which I have ever heard. What does it say, first and foremost to the troops, what does it tell, indicate, revere or whatever, which we, in our personal grief do not feel?
It's pretty arrogant for someone to use the death figures as foils for an agenda. Do you find the figure of 3,500 dead any more damning than 2,997? Look to the many hundreds of thousands Sadaam murdered and, please, bespeak these numbers in your query if x number of US Military Volunteers have been murdered.
I have spent months in Kurdistan and can assure you that there are hundreds of thousands of peoples whose lives were unalterably changed by Hussein's Revolutionary Guards and by their indiscriminate use of promoting gas warfare amongst these people whom I'd thought had ended after the horrors of WW1 came to light. Man, have you forgotten this time in history???
Genocide is Murder and Hanging, for Sadaam, was humane. Would that he have suffered the agonizing death, as did the Kurds, who were rendered unable to breath and suffocated in their own vomit and blood-laden phleme caused by Saadam's orders to fire mustard gas-laden artillery shells upon a civilian populace.
It's a fool's folly, to try to defend the legitimate execution of the Murderer from Bagdahd. It's a more heinous ploy to try to condemn our Nation for Sadaam's execution. In the end, what goes around, usually comes around.
God's Will Has Been Served.

yes it is ,because many who are doing the attacks themselves are not followers of saddam ,but are afraid of him and fear ,that if he would have regained power those that did not follow or support him ,would be punished ,its like living the hitler era again in that country ,they are those who watch and become snitchers who think that by saying he or she did not support or follow you would be spared , and at same time we dont need dectators in this world it is to be shared by all in love and harmony ,not oppression of others ,there will be peace in this world it has been foretold ,but once it arrives wut will we do rejoice and embrace or allow someone to mouthed off with these stupid words " It wont last" or will we go on shut the mouth of the idiot who probably smokes and also say's "we all are going to die some day" it's people like this who crave despair for others because they are in a world of there own and want company , so yes it is worth it , the men and women who died in this battle should be honored with that 'believe" they died for, and not foregotten in vain ...

So you are saying we should let those tyrants that have killed thousands just run free until they have the power for world domination. The UN did the same thing with Adolph Hitler. What a great idea.

For some reason, politicians believe that war can cause peace.
It hasn't happened. Ever.
