Weird crushes. We've all had 'em. What's your most cringeworthy?
I thought I'd ask this banal, shallow question as a distraction from the 99 billion ongoing threads about Saddam. (Which is of course a very important subject, but there's only so many times you can see the same question repeated without going nuts.)

The most cringeworthy is always the most recent one, especially if it won't go away ... and especially if you think the person in question is actually alright and would be worth getting to know, but you think that it's unlikely this will ever happen.

He was called Brian. He was much shorter than me. He didn't actually like me much, but for a few weeks in the hot summer of 1976 I was obsessed. He used to hide from me in the end. Normally I'm quite cool, never been like that before or since. Was it the weather perhaps ?

I have had a crush on most of my son's soccer coaches over the years. Just something about those soccer player bodies.
And I have had a crush on my son's pediatrician since I was a little kid and he was my pediatrician. (He's old but hot in a Harrison Ford kind of way)
