If you have a Web mail service, your emails are usually saved at that site. Gmail/Yahoo/hotmail, etc. You can print out
a copy to download, but they are perfectly safe at the
website. The only problem you would have is if you no
longer had an internet connection.
The other way to save emails on your computer is thru
Outlook Express which yoiu download from your ISP. You
can either store these emails in your Outlook Express or
you can move them to folders and store on your HD.

I don't know what type of email account you got.
Gmail providing free email account which can configures to you computer outlook express. through this account you can permanently save the emails to your computer,
for ther free email providers, you have pay some money to configure the account to outlook.
Other way Just select the content of the mail, copy it and paste in MS-word to store in your computer.

Here's how I do it.
Just select the text of the email as you would text in a word document and paste it to a new word document. You can also change the font size and type while it's selected if you want it bigger or smaller. I do it this way to keep track of penpals.

1) preferably use a mail client like gmail
2) Use the pop3 forwarding feature of this service to link the mail with your mail client like outlook express
3) Use OPERA browser it has a very user friendly mail client and automatically configures ur gmail account with your browser; and u will be able to view the mail offline 2.

outlook express---click file then save as .the name of the e-mail will come up at the bottom of the file click ok. it will go to your documents.create folders for certain e-mails and name them acording to the e-mail. If it is an attachment then click on attachment then click on file to save as .outlook will name the attachment , then click ok

setup outlook express or another e-mail client to pickup your e-mail that way when you goto your e-mail it will download onto your computer.. but be safe,, read your mail through web mail first that way you can delete what you don't want and download what you do want,
if you setup outlook to bring you mail you will get all the junks mail to
