i have had hondata in all my integras and it is the best investment for tuning you can make other than a completely programable computer for $3000. it allows you to see and change every aspect to get the most out of your engine. the cheap a$$ chips people are selling on ebay or wherever are crap. they are chip radio shack chips, cost 79 cents, mass produced, and programmed for the ideal car running in ideal conditions. you car will probably not fit in this catagory. the information is burned on the chip and with each burn, the chip becomes less reliable. from the performance side, my shop has installed these chips in ecu, doing test runs before and after. the customer, usually a young kid swears his car is 10 times faster now. then we show the test results. of over 50 chips installed, none, zero, have performed better after the chip was installed, most performed worse, many much worse. to most of them it was the thought and what they read that made the car faster. not real racers though. people do not want to spend the money on hondata because they think them can get the same result from a cheaper chip that really only dumps more gas to the engine constantly. this leads to raw gas sitting on pistons at idle and making its way into the oil after sitting for awhile. these cheap chips control your computer, which controls your car, which you control. or you control hondata, which controls the ecu, which makes the car do what you want. you control timing, fuel, air, rev limit....everything. plug you computer up and you get to see the areas you can improve in, all results right there.
so spend a few hundred on hondata, dont buy any crap for your car. you will do more harm than good.
