Oh, and in response - any one-syllable word will do. I find "Fire" works quite well even though the people still get hit in the head by the chickens I toss. It adds a bit of humor and adventure to watch people spin around and THEN get hit by the chicken. By the time you get out the words "Incoming Chicken!" or "Aaaahhh!! There's a chicken coming atcha head on! Watch out!", the person will be wrestling on the ground with the chicken. Heck, though, that's where the fun lies!

if you are throwing it at them, why would you tell them to duck. if i throw something at someone i expect it to hit them.
