Ok, so i have my Internet and phone through the same Cable company, (Millennium Digital Media) so i have a Cable Modem, and a white "MTA" box(which is for the phone), i wanted to buy a router to connect My Xbox live, and my computers internet so i can be on both at the same time, so, an ethernet cable comes from my modem to the MTA box, then another cord from my MTA box to the Computer, so whenever i want to play xbox live, i have to unplug the cord that goes to the computer, and plug in the cable that connects my to my xbox. so if i buy a Regular router (NOT wireless) and i plug the router into the port where i plug my Xbox, and my Computer into, and i plug the cable that comes from the computer into the router, and my xbox into the router, will both them work? Do i have this right? it may sound confusin but im sure someone can answer this.

This is the modem i want:

Aint got a clue what an mta box is but connect the router wan port to the network cable coming into your pc, connect the pc and the game to the 1st and 2nd lan ports.

The way mine is set up is.

Cable comes out of the cable box that goes into the incomming port on the router.

I then have a cable from port 1 that goes to my computer
Cable in port 2 that goes to a wireless router
Cable in port 3 that goes to Server #1
Cable in port 2 that goes to server # 2

You should be able to run a cable to your computer, and then a cable to your Xbox and not have to unplug any cords.

Good Luck
