B: a graphic card which is not integrated(256 mb) and a computer ram of 1024 mb on the computer.

Is there any difference??

I understand what you are asking ...

.... you want to know if (all things equal) there is a performance difference between two such cards....

YES.

The non integrated card will outperform (to some degree or other) the card that uses shared memory.

first..
1024 + 256 of ram is a stupid configuration for a motherboard... but just to answer ....

The dedicated video card will always be much better because it has its own processor, aka "GPU" . this means that you are not using all the power from your main cpu to process the graphics.
So the diference will be the performance.

A machine with dedicated graphics card will perform better than the one using the same amount of memory and taking those 256 for video as you describe it.

Now you can answer the question in your essay right!!!

Good luck

the computer with a dedicated graphics card has a seperate and usually more powerful GPU (graphics processing unit) and will almost always out perform a system with intergrated graphics.

if your system has intergrated graphics and you wish to install a dedicated graphics card then make sure you disable the intergrated graphics function through your bios setup. failing to do so will cause both graphics processors to try and run at the same time thus subtracting from your RAM and slowing down the system overall.

1 advantage of using a dedicated card is that it is quick and easy to replace/update.

But if your only looking for a computer to use in an office environment then intergrated graphics are a cheap solution.

Yes. An Integrated card uses some of your PC's ram for it's memory thus you will lose that memory for running applications. Vista may or may not see a integrated card as being Aero Glass compatiable.

Generally
Gaming = dedicated card
General Office PC = Integrated card

The difference if the integrated card is built onto your motherboard and cannot be removed. A card that is not integrated can be removed and put into another computer. Integrated cards are typically worse than non integrated cards.
