what to do if my laptop plays slow sound when playing movie DVD but plays Mp3 sound files louder?

i have a acer travelmate 4000flci with windows XP , but as soon as i play a movie DVD the sound that it gives is very slow but when i play a MP3 sound file it is considerably louder ? please help

Try checking your Movie Player if you're using DTS, change the sound settings there from DTS to Dolby.
