Just a word to the wise; Hot Topic is not Punk Rock. Sorry had to throw MC lars in there. By the Way I dont like most Hip Hop or rap, but the whole NerdCore thing is great. Check out MC Lars, Mc Chris, and the rest.

I PREFER punk... meaning I never listen to hip hop/rap/pop. But it doesn't exactly make my ears bleed... At least, not literally. The Clash, The Pistols, The DKs, The Ramones, The Adicts, The Damned, The Jam, Sham 69, The Stooges, The Velvet Underground... All very kickass.

Now I'm actually getting really into post-punk- The Pop Group is ******* awesome.

Punk for sure, actually, I HATE hip hop/ rap/ pop and any **** like "Shake your money maker" (wtf?...degrading garbage). So empty...it makes me almost physically sick. And when people try to push that **** on me and go further to say punk is garbage and boring....I practically explode.

BTW...thought the mention of Avril, Ashley Simpson AND Good Charlotte was pure comedy (even heard from somewhere that My Chemical Romance was "punk" LMAO). Farthest from punk music there is...

Can't say I'm a huge punk rocker but am pretty content with listening to Anti-Flag, Green Day, and Billy Talent (don't flame me...just saying some of their songs are on the edge of punk) plus Three Days Grace, The Network and Godsmack. THEY ROCK! \m/

I agree. Yet I listen to a mix of rock like Godsmack, Nirvana, Breaking Benjamin, Flyleaf, and such. I don't know how some people listen to pop and then say that they are hard core rocker but hey whatever. I have listen to this stuff for ever and thats all i listen to.

I agree with you about good charlotte, avril lavign, and ashley simpson(and I despise all of those), though I do enjoy all types of music including punk rock. I cannot say I despise hip hop all together because one of my favorite bands, sublime, has mixed some hip hop into their music along with all kinds of other stuff that doesn't sound as if it should go together, but they pulled it off big time!

Definitly Punk Rock, my name says it all... and yeah I can't be more agree with you, those "artists" label themselves on a category that doesn't belong to them, Punk Rock rocks!! but some people are just cofused because they dont have a clear idea of what real punk is.

I luv punk rock, I am a punk rocker, and I think that it couldn't even be a comparation between rock and rap.

Neither. Jive/jazz, soul, boogie, blues and country

I like some of those guys you mentioned like Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, but they're not punk. Nirvana's grunge, and Led Zeppelin's just...rock n' roll.
