Did you know...

That some people are only alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them?

My goodness, what a sexist question. But I'll play along for the sake of conversation.

Do women not know about political issues? I seriously doubt you can back up a claim like that. I'm betting Margaret Thatcher, Madeleine Albright and Condoleeza Rice may be among the many women out there who would disagree with your assessment (and who probably know more about political issues than you do.)

Are there votes based on emotions and a handsome face? Again, I challenge you to prove that. How can we really be sure that the votes of men aren't based on looks and our emotions, for that matter?

Were the "greatest political leaders" in power when women couldn't vote? There's no way to prove that since the contexts in which they had to lead were so different from the contexts of recent years. How do we know that LBJ or GWB or Clinton or Reagan wouldn't have done a better job during WWII than FDR? Or a better job than Lincoln during the Civil War? It's comparing apples and oranges. But more impotantly, how does the fact that women gained the right to vote have anything to do with the greatness of elected leaders? Is the mere fact that women can vote now the reason why there has been no WWIII? Such an argument is just as plausible as one that the votes of women have prevented the modern world from having comparably great leaders i.e. not plausible at all.

Hey, at least you can't say I didn't give your post a fair reading! ;)

I never vote my emotions. I spend hours researching the issues to determine which candidate best represents my personal opinions. I actually voted for Kerry, and I think he is dog-ugly. My mother is a retired investment banker, and she votes the way the money goes. My father, on the other hand, votes straight party democrat, regardless...So otherwise, my mother and I both thoroughly research our votes before we cast them, while my father just votes a straight ticket. Which votes are going to be more detrimental?

Remember too, that there have been some great female political and military leaders:

Nina Bang, Danish Minister of Education 1924-26 was the world's first full female cabinet minister

1960 Sirivamo Bandaranaike of Sri Lanka became the world's first female elected Premier Minister

1974 Isabel Perón of Argentina became the first woman President

There are 191 members of the United Nations and a few independent states outside. 16 have got female leaders at the moment.

Of the monarchies, there are reigning Queens in Denmark, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom - and the latter is represented by female Governor Generals in Canada and Saint Lucia, who function as their countries' de-facto Heads of State.

The 6 female Presidents are in Chile, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Liberia and The Philippines.

At the moment there are 5 woman Prime Ministers; in Jamaica New Zealand, Mozambique, South Korea and The Netherlands Antilles.

There have always been female rulers. Some Egyptian Queens are believed to have governed from around 3000 BCE, and the first to be named by the sources without any doubt is Ku-baba, who ruled the Mesopotamian City-State of Ur round 2500 BCE.

WHY is it that women are more successful at dominating a household than men?

I am not denigrating male leaders by any standard, there are a lot of male leaders that I truly praise. But I think it would be wiser to say that each gender can bring value to the table in the area of leadership.

You are sooo right, I only give my vote to the sexy political candidates. (HA HA what handsome faces are you talking about in politics???LMAO) But this is not my fault of course, OH NO that is because my brain is so much smaller than yours. And all these hormones and emotions are just too much for me to control. (Hee hee hee)

No really though, I am not even gonna bother to gripe at you for such a silly silly question. Lucky for me we live in a day and age where thinking like yours is few and far between. And my guess is that you are not even an American, or at least were not born in America, so your small minded views do not matter to me.

But sometimes I do think maybe would should have to take a test to be eligible to vote.... just so complete Dumb-Dumbs (much like yourself) are not able to screw up the elections.

Instead of discriminating against women like that, why don't we try this:

1. Before you're allowed to vote, you need to show identification. I've never had to show any proof of ID.
2. You should have to name the candidates who are running for office. How can you vote if you don't know who they are?
3. You should be able to name at least 2 major issues in the election.
4. All voting machines should be written in English. If you can read it, you can't vote!

I wonder how the elections would change....

Of course women should have the right to vote! I make very educated and well researched voting decisions. Never once have I voted based on something I feel or which candidate is the most attractive.

Perhaps none of the women you know are intelligent to vote in the correct manner, but a large group of women are.

It is a free country and all citizens over the age of 18 should be allowed to vote - that includes women. You do not have any REAL proof that it is because of women that the Presidents aren't as "good" as they were before women gained the right to vote.

Are you out of your mind? Didn't a woman give birth to you? Creating a human being and giving birth is much more complicated than voting. Believe it or not we do not vote for someone because they look good or because of emotions. We are good at seeing who is lying (since men lie all the time to us) and will pick the candidate with the least amount of BS. Do me a favor and save your energy for anything besides voting.

Yes. We should be allowed to vote. There are a lot of women out there that know politics better than a lot of men. I don't follow it myself, so I make the choice not to vote.

Hold it a second... women have to see their husbands off to war, and they're left alone to fend for themselves and care for the children... most often, when husbands walk out, the women are left with the care and support of the child... and women have to see their children go off to war... MAYBE women should be the only ones with the right to vote since they're left with the responsibility of caring for disabled husbands when they come back injured, shot up to pieces and disabled... and see their children go off to war and come back in coffins or disabled (mentally as well as physically)...! Consider THAT.

You forget that you were born from a woman... did you suckle on your daddy's titty?

Your problem is that you don't like women... well, with today's sexual preferences... I guess it's OK for you to "like" men. I can't say anything against that, since you're entitled to your "preferences" or "orientations."

Look at it this way, Hussein was in power for about 25 years, the Republicans blame Slick Willy, but Dubya forgets that his father and Reagan both fumbled it, too! Dumb rednecks and dumb yokels voted for Dubya who NOW blames Slick Willy... to divert attention from himself and his "Weapons of Mass Diversion... " ooops, I mean, "Weapons of Mass Destruction." Women didn't make that decision... dumb male voters chose this dumb, retarded rodeo clown for President... no wonder people from all over the world are making fun of the USA! Wha'd'ya got to say now?
