I was told this is a "fully insultated male spade connector" Are there different ones for voltages ? They look like the extact same, besides the color. its for a car alarm.

I took some pictures of the one I have, I am trying to find out what type it is so i can get some more of them.

they are the same thing but they make diffrent sizes the one you have looks like its 1/4 inch as for diffrent voltage no they will work for a car alarm

Most connectors such as yours are rated for 600 volts so that's not an issue. The different colors denote the size wire your going to install it on. There are also different sized spades. If the two (male and female) don't match in size you won't be able to plug them together. And finally to confuse matters even more, different manufacturers have different color codes and different sizes. The best thing you can do Mathew is to buy a matched set, male and female. I wish you lived next door, I have thousands of them!

The two spade connectors do look the same, however the guage of the wire that the red one will accept is probably different than the guage of the wire the "clear plastic" one will accept. Depending on the company that makes the connectors, the guage of the both connectors can vary from 20 to 14 guage.

the color is for the wire gage not voltages. IE 14-16 refers to the 14 thru 16 wire gage(size).

The clear plastic are all male connectors. They come in different sizes based on the wire size. Can't tell from the pics. what size they are. take a look here
