Dedicated to Rich...
Sounds like you might know someone with "Nice guys finish last" syndrome.
It can pay to be nice...After you've learned that you don't always have to, and shouldn't always, be nice.
Deeper, more meaningful relationships can blossom from being nice. But "Nice" doesn't get the attention that "Asshole" does.
Its best to naturally be nice and learn to play the part of the other sometimes.

If you r too nice, people will advantage of you and if your are mean then they will offend you always. So the median path is much better. Go about your work and just show your teeth to people but dont get too close or you set urself up for failure.

People are never to be trusted
just pretend you are nice
never trust anyone in this evil world

Live the life of a diplomat and i can gurantee u that u will be happy, but never do harm to anyone

one misdeed done in he past will come to bite you in the butt

Need i say more?

It depends on what you mean by "pay".
If being nice makes you feel good, then i'd say that's a good payoff.
Being a blessing to someone when they don't even know who you are is priceless to me.
So i suppose it has to do with what motivates you.

Yes because that way people respect you because you're not an @sshole
But don't be too nice. Then people just step all over you

side A: Mean people suck.

side B: Nice people are mean.

it's not that it pays, it's that it's returned to you, once that has stopped then it's time to step back and see if nice comes back to you,,if so great,,if not then stop kissing ***,, you look like a fool,,and sometimes you do not wish to be nice, when ppl are rude to you,,

Sometimes, I suppose it does....other times, when you're nice you set yourself up to be taken advantage of. I suppose it all depends...I try to be nice as often as I can either way.
