I'm just a bit fed up with people calling bands they don't like "gay." It's stupid and unoriginal (yeah, I've seen stupid homophobes ganging up on a band, all of them calling it, creatively, gay). I'm sick of people criticisizing a band because of supposed "gayness." (If you ask me, using the term "gay" as an insult any time is pretty stupid.) Does anyone agree with me, or am I the only open-minded person here?

THANK YOU!! I think 'gay' is a really stupid insult, but then again, people are really uncreative with their insults these days.
If you're going to take the time to a: listen to a band you hate & b: rip into it, at least be inventive.
It's not that hard! Watch! "Man, I hate Fuzzy Head. They sound like drunk monkeys running into an iron maiden. Is their singer on crack?! He has talented of a dead snail! And their guitarist, oh man. I think my dead uncle could play better than that, and he was missing three fingers!"
Besides, everyone knows, gay = fabulous. ;)
PS: I'm not as old as I sound. =P

I totally agree. This seems to be a big thing with the teens these days. I have caught myself scolding kids around me for using gay as an insult to someone or something. They should at least try an come up with something original or something that means what they are trying to say. My children are forbidden to use the term in that manner. My father would still smack me to the moon if I used the term gay as an insult.......... along with a few others. LOL.

the word gay has been changed so much over the years
it used to mean happy a long time ago but now it means a homo and people use it for something they don't like, yeah i think it is pretty stupid to say a band is "gay", just say that you don't like it!!! its not that hard

It's basically uncalled for. I had a boss call the music I listen to "F A G Metal" because it was 80's hair bands. I mean he has a friggin' Yanni cd.

Open -minded has nothing to do with it. The word gay now days does not mean like homosexuals. It means funny, do not like for some reason. Does NOT mean they are gay like in you open-mindless thinking. Means no more than the old , hey that is cool, or your a real dud dude.

I hate it too. Being a teacher I hear it a lot - and not just from kids! Adults do it too. I call people on it. I ask :what do you mean by that? Usually people don't quite know what to say when you question why they use that saying and they stop using it around me at least.

i agree with you because first off, a lot of ppl say that and dont even KNOW what gay means, so they should LEARN the meaning and if they're gonna insult someone, they should actually think of something better and maybe a little more original
