sure they can, i mean it is awkward but if the parents want the kid to have more middle names (like if they had a hard time deciding his name an jus wanted all the names. i no weird :S .......but yeah)
but i wonder how life for the kid with the many middle names would go

You can name a baby anything in the world you want to, however long. But if you get too carried away, the poor people who type your birth certificate will not be able to fit it all on the certificate the way you want. In that case, you will have to file a shorter name, then amend it later with the fuller, longer name.

Absotlutly, even thow i stuck with the tradition of having one middle name, my sister gave her son two middle names and well my father was so bold as to give my half brother three middle names, and although i cant remember the order they are in I do remember what they are and what each of those names represent.

Yes!! My sister, my husband, and my step son all have 2 middle names. You can either seperate the middle names or put a hyphen in between them. (example: Lynn Marie or Lynn-Marie) There is nothing wrong with it!

Of course! My daughters name is 5 names long! Its all about you and what you like! Besides imagine how many Jessica Anne's (example) there are....adding a third or even fourth name gives them more identity!

I have 5 myself and knew a guy in San Francisco who gave his kids 41 middle names each. And he was able to rattle them off without a single mistake.
I even have 2 family names (and no, my mother's maiden name is NOT one of them!)

Of course you CAN do that, but I wouldn't recommend it.
The first and middle name would be on all legal paperwork. The other middle names would not be recognized much since there is no room for them. (license, ss card, etc.)
