They weigh the same.

They both weigh the same. 1 pound of feathers only seem to be heavier as 1 brick weigh less than a feather. Therefore, more feathers are needed to make up a pound than the number of bricks are needed to make a pound.

they both weigh the same. weight is an exact measurement. it is directly correlated to the mass (amount of matter) and the pull of gravity in the particular place where it is measured. even on different places on earth gravity fluctuates, at least according to the data obtained by the GAIA satellites. so it would depend on where you did it, but it would be insignificant anywhere on earth. as long as you have the same mass of feathers and bricks, no matter where you go in the solar system, the earth or the universe they will weigh the same assuming gravity remains constant. however a pound of gold weighs less because it is weighed in Troy ounces, 14 of which make a pound compared to the standard 16 ounces. if you were to drop a pound of bricks and a pound of feathers in a vacuum they will drop at the exact same rate because they have the same mass and will fall at the same speed since gravity will affect them exactly the same.

if you really wanted to be scientifically correct, you would ask "which would drop faster in a vacuum assuming the gravitational pull remains constant, 453.59237 grams of feathers or bricks."

the short answer is that they both weigh the same.

They weigh the same. It's an ancient question.

Most people stumble when they first hear it because they think of feathers being lighter. The only difference between the pound of bricks and the pound of feathers is the density of the two.

Technically, they weigh the same. However, if you drop both of them on your foot I am pretty sure the brick will hurt more than the feathers.

What are they encased in? I think the feathers will weigh less because you will need a pallet to hold the bricks.
