Looks like vista will be comparable to XP. I have installed a beta version of Vista, it's not all that. It is more graphic intense and does require about 10 gigs of space on the hard drive for the operating system (compared to 3-5 gigs for XP). Vista will require a 64 bit processor. only newer processors are 64 bit now, but take the average price of a computer now that already has a 64 bit processor and that will be the price
prices of PC's have come way down, there shouldn't be any spike in prices just for vista

If you proposed to by a new computer, pls buy express upgrade to vista along the PC. this becomes slightly cheeper than buying Vista Seperately.

I would have to say around $3000
cause 1.) it needs 1 gig of memory to run right 2.) it needs at least 256 K of video ram (which happens to be a top end video card)
just Vista program alone is $900 I been told
if you buy a computer now all I can tell you is rust in pieces
if your smart wait to see how well it does run on those computers before you make a buy for one by that time they will have a new line of computers out built to run Vista

I recently ordered vista home premium, an express upgrade the price for it was around $300.

If you buy some computer now like at bestbuy they come with a free updgrade to vista when it is released next year.
