Everytime I have sex or get close to an orgasm, I get a very bad headache. I was recently diagnosed with a hyperthyroid and take methimozole and propanolol 3 times a day. Could that have something to do with it? Does anyone else have this problem? It happens EVERY time.

It seems to me with my experience, every medecine out there seems to have an odd side effect involving ones sex life that the doctors deny up and down! If the headaches started after you started taking the medication, I would blame it on the meds. If not, then I would assume you are tensing up too much. I find that I anticipate the feeling or orgasm and get so anxious and excited that I tense up and end up with leg cramps. I tense up everywhere, mostly my legs and thighs though. If you are tensing up as well, it may be making the blood rush to your head and causing your headaches. Try excederine migraine....hope you figure that out!

I believe it's just a sign to tell you,You shouldn't be doing that knowing you're on drugs for the Hyperthyroid. There's a saying that too much of everything is bad,i would advice you stay a little bit without having sex and see what becomes of it.
I think actually you need rest and don't always focus on that part when you want to have an orgasm alright. It's going to be better if you're ready to help yourself,so start now and begin to quite.I know it's hard but you can do it.

Take something for the headache before having sex. If you still get is at the wrong time forget the headache and have your orgasm. It may help it go away.

i know for a fact that when you haven't orgasmed that is when you have headache. it is when you get close to it and then stop, you never reached the climax. next time make sure you had an orgasm in any way, vaginal or clitoral stimuation, or even do it yourself...masturbate just beg sure you climaxed.let go of yourself.

I am so very sorry to hear this. I cannot imagine the strain that this afliction has put upon you. Did it happen before you were diagnosed, and thusly medicated? If it did not, then perhaps you are on track to question the medication.

If the truth be known, sex tends to bring about a headache for women, in general. They're not really into sex and most would rather watch soap operas, or even mop the floor. That is, of course, unless they're drunk (which is usually required for them to be interested).

Yes. I don't. But the question is.... do you stop at that point before you have the orgasm?

It could be that you're holding your breath and not exhaling out the carbon dioxide (a waste product) in your body.
