My baby is breastfed so I know what you mean. She has a sensitive bottom as well. On a normal basis I use vaseline. When it does look a little red I use boudreaux's butt paste. It is the best. I tried 3 differnt cremes until i found what i needed. She is now 15 1/2 weeks old. Hope this helps.

First I would look to what you are eating. If you are drinking a lot of juice or eating a lot of fruit, especially orange it may be causing all the pooping as well as a little rash. It could also be if you are eating anything spicy.
Next try to clean the baby with water only. It may be that the wipes are irritating her. If you need wipes for times when you are not home or it is too hard to use water (like 3 am), I liked the Pampers Sensitive. My son never cried when I used them, even on the worst rash. But even when there is no rash, don't get the cheap wipes. My son is 2 and has never had sensitive skin, but the cheaper wipes irritated and dried out his skin. Since as moms we use wipes everywhere you want something good.
The best diaper cream out there is called Dr Smiths. It is a little hard to find sometimes, but my parents actually had it recommended to them and used it on me when I was a baby (32 now) and I have used it on both my boys (8 & 2).
I have tried everything else there is. A & D has a very medicinal smell, but on my first son it seemed to burn at first if he was raw. Desitin and Balmex are TOO THICK and don't absorb so you have to try to scrub it off between diaper changes which irritates it more. Vaseline will put a layer of protection between the poop and her skin, but it does nothing to help present irritation. Boudreuxs is the second best, but the tube it comes in can be hard to squeeze, where Dr Smiths comes in a jar (it comes in a tube too and it is an easier squeeze) , and to me when I have a wiggly crying baby in front of me, I want it as easy to get to and get done as possible. But all of them are safe for any age baby.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Sounds like she might be getting a yeast rash. Check to see if she has any white patches in her mouth at all too. If she has white patches in her mouth, then she has thrush, and you'll need medicine from her doctor. The doctor can also give you a cream that will clear up a yeast diaper rash very quickly.
If you want to try to handle it on your own, try the following:
1. Change diaper often, keep area exposed to air sometimes.
2. Sprinkle Baby Cornstarch (not talc) on her bottom.
3. Dissolve a little bit of acidophilus powder in a few drops of water, and give it to her orally. That will often straighten out a yeast infection naturally.
I have a lot of other ideas, but that is about as far as I would go on a young baby without asking a doctor for some help.

There is a cream for diaper rash called " Butt Paste" I know that sounds like a joke but it really isn't. There is no side effects to it that I know of. I work with infants every day in a day care nursery and the parents swear by it. I think it works great too. You can get it at any store like Wal-Mart or Walgreen's. You may have to ask the pharmacist for it but you do not need a prescription. Give it a try. Call your doctor if it doesn't show signs of clearing as the baby may have something like a yeast infection that does require a prescription.

I attempt and use diaper rash cream/ointment each and every time i alter my toddler's diaper. in spite of the undeniable fact that, I even have used Vaseline once or twice merely to be sure if it makes any difference and that i got here across that Vaseline is merely as good as diaper rash cream or ointment and the better section approximately it relatively is that it is likewise plenty extra inexpensive than diaper rash cream! How approximately that for some good information? so a techniques as toddler powder is in contact, I even have study in a sprint one mag those days that newborns and toddlers can surely inhale that stuff and probable choke on it. no longer good! i think it certainly relies upon on how plenty powder you certainly use. it relatively is a shame too because of the fact i bought extremely some bottles of toddler powder in the past my toddler became born.

You should contact her pediatrician. It could be something your eating that is causing this. Are you eating a lot of sugar or spicy foods? Are you sure it's diaper rash and not a yeast infection? Baby girls can get them, which is why I strongly recommend paging your baby's pediatrician. In the mean time, you can try A&D ointment. It doesn't contain zinc oxide, like Desitin, but it does make a barrier between their skin and her poop. I hope it helps.

I use plain warm water.. let the baby air dry and then put petroleum jelly. Never wipe your baby with the diaper because it has urine on it and could cause more of an irritaion. It should go away in a few days. But I heard if babies are breastfed diaper rash is very uncommon, so there could be something else irritating her. Hope this helps. and congrats on your beautiful baby

Have your dr call in a perscription for Nystatin.(diaper rash cream with a little ex medication) I promise its very gental on babys bottoms and will usuall get rid of the rash within a few hours verses a few days on desitin or balmex. Your dr can also give you samples if money or insurance is a problem. I keep a very good supply of it here because i baby sit 2 other babys on top of my own and its like a miracle worker. Good luck!

First keep an eye on what you are eating. Dont use wipes just use water. And the A&D ointment works great, I used the aveeno sensitive on my son. He got the same rash when he was a baby and I breastfed too. But just remember that your diet can affect it too.. I used to air his bottom out too, the fresh air really helped and he liked the nakedness. But dont do it for too long.

If you use wipies for your baby make sure that they are unscented only, or get some disposable washcloths by Johnsons. Anyways, I would take the baby to the pediatrician because I just took my daughter for her shots, and she had only a very small diaper rash, but the ped prescribed something called Nystatin for her, which is also almost exactly like a and d ointment and vaseline..but it always knocks it out, i've used it before. GL!
