I'd keep walking, then I'd divide it in 10 ways, and spend at least half of it. Some bums are just hired actors, that some conartist or scam artist hired. not all of them, but that's often the case. If you want to give them anything, give them a jar a peanut butter, a candy bar and some spoons.

not to be rude or anything, but I would buy him some food and give him a coat then go a donate a large lump sum to the local shelters. So, they are better equipped to handle the homeless and provide better housing a opportunities.

I would help a fellow out, I would have him/her do something to earn it. Build self esteem ya know. But yes, I will help others when I have an abundance.
