He may have helped in concieving but you carried and nutured that growing baby for 9 months! I honestly didn't give him an option. The name I chose is the name my daughter has. But if he's that cranky about it. Comprimise! The name you chose and add an extra middle name to it (the name he chose)

Well, I would persuade the husband that the name is a really good choice like the meaning is very nice or it sounds pretty or it shares the same name as a famous person. I already got out a list of reasons why I want to name my future daughter "Hermione".

Number one, since you are not married yet - talk about it before hand! Let him know how important the names are ahead of time.
Otherwise, you could try and list off several choices that you like, and ask him to choose from among them.
All the hospitals I delivered in asked ME what I wanted on the birth certificate and how to spell the names.

Honey, you need to discuss it with him.. My husband is easy cause we are so much alike and he loves all the names I picked out for our kids. He named our son.
My children's names are:
Apache-lynn Cheyenne
Roper Dakotah
Eris Faylene
We are expecting our 4th in June. But, we don't want to know the sex until he/she is born.
We are into Rodeo together and I love Indians cause I have Apache in my blood. So, for us it was easy. My husband was the only child and I have a older sister and brother. My husband wanted 4 kids. He said to me "I don't like common names, so come up with unusual names." So, I did.
Good luck Dear..

I told him i went through the pain of having a c-section. I had every right to name our son what i wanted and i did not care what he thought. I am glad i did not name our son what he wanted and even though he did not like the named i chose then he loves it now so it all worked out.

I think that if your future husband loves you, gets along with you, and is willing to compromise with you, you won't have to "get him" to agree. He will, on his own, because names are a part of your opinions and if he married you, he probably likes your opinion an awful lot.

Tell him that you're going through the pain of pregnancy and child birth, so you get to pick the name. When he does it, he can pick the name.

I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to get them to like the same names you do. He would probably like any name you did. If he didn't, maybe you could make some sort of compromise between names.
