The best way to get a raise is to make sure you are armed with positive facts and figures - bosses tend to like people who have done their research. Point out to him/her what you've excelled at during the year over and above your job status requirements. Next show how you or your department has increased the revenues or the productivity for the company. Point out how you or your dept. has been loyal by not having accidents or missed work days.

If you honestly feel you deserve a raise or promotion then you need to gently point this out to your boss after your presentation. Yes, I do mean presentation because you basically trying to promote yourself in your boss's eyes are you not? If you've done your research and presented your case with concrete facts and figures your changes of a promotion or raise have increased.

Even if your boss declines your request - ask them politely if they would give it some thought and get back to you. Thank them even if it irks you to do so - better to give your boss the impression that you know how to be professional even if the situation is unfavourable.

Good Luck with this - hope this works for you.

Your boss for sure feels you're doing a stable activity and wanted to grant you an advantage to instruct his appreciation on your perplexing paintings...it truly is not a "present". you're actually not obligated or expected to grant something in return because's an advantage no longer a recent. tell your boss thank you and how lots you delight in the bonus and go away it at that.

First look for another job. Once you get hired go to your boss and ask for the bonus or a raise. When he starts laughing tell him to TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT. I ain't working her no more, lol.

Show him how you can increase the revenue and he'll be sure to compensate you
