i have - and yes, there are many bebefits to these "nonordinary" states of consciousness - it helps us to better understand how life is an "illusion" (for lack of a better word)

Yes, not very controllable or predictable, but a few times during meditations after reaching the spiritual waves. You gain insight into how all life is connected, even things about your own self. The OBE trips themselves have shown the vibratory levels of spiritual existance and how things will be after death, also travel to earthly places was fun. Trouble is trying to remember if the experience actually occured or not. For me it seems like the memories don't always come back completely when I re-enter.

I am wondering how you achieved this out of body experience.
I personally had a near death experience. I was bleeding to death. I heard the doctor say my B/P was 30/zero First everything went black & white, then I lost my ability to hear and to feel any pain or fear. Then I was traveling through that white light that people talk about. I have never ever experienced such total peace and contentment, I was pleased that I was dying....everything was ok.
Eventually I heard the doctor pleading me to come back. so I reluctantly opened my eyes and when I shut them again the white light was gone.
If nothing else it has given me the knowledge that life is precious and we need to live it well while we are here.
It also has assured me that my family members who have died......don't do so in horror. But in peace.

Yes I have had them from time to time since I was a little girl. They are called OOBE's for short. A few times I was out I saw things that I could not have known. Like the color of my new friends blanket. (orange and blue) . When I had the experience I thought those were odd colors. When I saw him I told him I visited him thru an oobe and I saw he had an orange and blue blanket and I was waking him up from a nightmare and not to be scared cause it was only me in spirit form..." he freaked and said he does have an orange and blue blanket and I was like whoa cool!

I am living two lives and it is reallya bunch of scarry crap. My dreams are my second life.
